The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, or Men who Hate Women as a name is that when translated directly from Sweden, is Stieg Larsson's first novel. This is also the first part of The Millennium Trilogy. Millennium quite small magazine owned by journalist Mikael 'Kalle' Blomkvist and "lover occational his" Erika Berger. Millennium was published in Stockholm, capital of Sweden beautiful.
At the beginning of the book, Mikael Blomkvist will be sentenced to prison for three months for libeling from famous business Swede Hans-Erik Wennerstrom. Mikael has been accused Wennerstrom for many types of white collar crime, but eventually it all fell to pieces of evidence for several reasons. Michael promises to take revenge because he thought the sentence was served. Soon he seems to get a change to it, when other business-maestro Henrik Vanger approaches and offers her with interesting and exciting. Vanger want Mikael to solve the mystery that has become an obsession for Henrik Vanger: what happened to the niece Harriet Vanger forty years ago when he just disappeared without a trace. And if the Mikael successful, Wennerstrom Vanger will give him a head on a platter. Other work for Mikael is to write a book about Vanger-family and its history. Mikael agrees to accept the job and spent a year in Vanger-family village, a small town Hedestad. 300 km north of Stockholm.
Mikael started his work by examining family history, and soon he knew that there were skeleton buried in almost all the cabinets she opened. It seems that almost all family members hate each other. There are many strange characters in the family tree and only Henrik Vanger seems to be one normal. Mikael notice also, that not all family members who are interested in the fact that Mikael has started to dig a family secret.
